Demagnetize refers to what attracts Illegals coming to the U.S. which is of course is jobs, and services support. If you take away the jobs by enforcing the laws and fines to employers that knowingly hire them and stop giving free services (medical, schools certain welfare programs) they won't want to come here in the first place. The theory is if one state starts cracking down on the illegals, the illegals will keep moving on to other states, until all states eventually pass laws or enforce existing laws making it more difficult for illegals to stay in the U.S.

Thanks for clearing that up, it makes sense now. And I'm very much in favor of states being given (and exercising) wide latitude in cracking down on illegal immigration. A state, or a county, or a town should be allowed to do anything it wants to an illegal that isn't prohibited by the Constitution itself - including ejecting them from their respective jurisdictions.
