Germans have always been vulnerable to demagogary and conspiracy theories. Hitler convinced these astute Europeans that Jews were the source of all their woes. They bought it hook, line and sinker. Germans have never managed to overcome their tribalism. For all the trappings of culture, they are still a primitive society.
Better than half the posters at DU think Bush personally ordered and planned the 9/11 attacks. That no plane hit the pentagon. No plane crashed in PA. And explosives brought down the WTC.
The Germans have learned well from us. This TV show is a fictional account. It is not meant to be accepted as truth.
And who are we to judge? We allowed a plethora of Kerry/Edwards stuff on our TV and called it "truth". We avidly, droolingly watch "reality" shows and call them truth. We accept blindly Jimmy Swaggert (et al) and call that truth. We allow a Michael More to create complete fabrications, cast them as "documentaries", and make millions of $$, and allow it to be called truth. A "special interest" group put this country over 30 years behind in the safe development and usage of nuclear power...and accepted their reasoning as truth. And...if history is any judge, we allowed Pres. Roosavelt to call the attack on Pearl Harbor a "surprise" and accepted that as truth!
Again...I think what the Germans are doing is kind of fun.
