Good Thursday morning, fellow political junkies. Today's cloture vote on the Pryor nomination is scheduled at 4:PM. Follow along with us, here, and comment...
I'm not kidding. Different camera angle, she was standing there, yapping away and scratching her a$$.
She sure was. I saw her too. She must not know she's on t.v. LOL
Your values are beyond reproach, eh? Bull... Jake
On my tv now it looks like they are voting on Griffin. Is he the last for the day?
Re Jeffords: "-- sometimes he kind of blanks out for a moment, forgets where he's going. I think he has some physical problems too."
He has had that problem for years. He would run as a Republican, get elected and forget that he was a Republican.
He is so worthless, even the Rats don't want him.
Not a pretty sight, BUTT gosh darn funny!
Dang, wish I was able to capture the screen image.
Yeah.. but what about the Freepers that were screaming bloody murder when the McCain-Nelson deal was announced?
Salazar's also likely getting some heat from back home. He was elected on a pledge to be a moderate Democrat and to oppose 'Rat filibusters of judicial nominees. But instead of being the moderate he claimed to be, he's been a far left partisan since taking office. I think this is generating some heat from the voters back home so he needed to cast a vote for a conservative nominee to cool things down a little. As you noted, he also likely knew Pryor personally so this was a good vote for Salazar to defect from the party line.
One more McTeague!
Yes she was!
Right they just started after I posted. I have updated my score sheet to reflect all five confirmations and will post it as soon as this vote is announced.
They'll go to their grave saying that it was only all the screaming that made the deal work out ok in the end.
It was clearly a cave by the Rats but we didn't get to dance on the Rat grave that day, in some ways it is sweeter to make them lose without having to change the rules (yet).
Perhaps she was trying to scratch her brain.
:-D
As you can see, they're voting on McKeague now. I know that Frist said Griffith (as opposed to Griffin) will be up on Mon...don't know if any other blue-slipped by Mich. judges are up after McKeague.
I think the filibuster deal got him cover for that campaign statement. I don't think he ever voted to filibuster any judges. And he would be someone who could personally know Pryor.
I spelled his name wrong it's McKeague
yah, trying to FIND her brain!
Clinton wearing old crusty and lavender shirt.
classy lady, Boxershorts... picking the nits from her hair and scratching her a$$. Real cla$$.
Right. Griffith Monday will be much fun. These 6 Circuit judges were a promised part of the deal. It will be very interesting to see if the deal start unraveling now.
yep
