You are pro-christianity, and if I'm remembering accurately, against abortion on demand. You do get attacked unfairly at times, with folks attributing things to you that fit their paradigm for atheist but not your reality ... or so I think I've noticed at FR. It would be an interesting evening (for me anyway) to dine and chat with you some where/when.

I'm going to agree with you here. If he was inviting her to his own house it would be improper, but she is invited to the White House...which belongs to all of us...it's a public place.

That is a very good point.

Reminds me of the verse:

Mat 21:31"Which of the two did the will of his father?" They said to Him, "The first." Jesus said to them, "Assuredly, I say to you that tax collectors and harlots enter the kingdom of God before you. "

Who is more likely to be a Christian, her or the Pope?

I say to you that ... harlots enter the kingdom of God

She certainly appears to be taking that one to heart.

Jesus said to them, "Assuredly, I say to you that tax collectors and harlots enter the kingdom of God . . . "

Maybe she figured it was either this or get a job with the IRS, and this sounded like more fun.

The bible has many honorable mentions of harlots, but none for gays. No not one.

Kulkis..."Porn now is pretty mainstream."

And, that's a really, really sad comment, IMHO.

Thank you for posting the interview with Ted Bundy. I have read it several times over the years, but it bears repeating.

Every human being reacts to stimuli in their own unique way. Unfortunately for Ted Bundy and his victims, he reacted to pornography in his unique way : (

Wake up? Not many have a problem with this in fact she and her pimp are in the limelight. Why would she change when she is being given a free pass by the Christan's.

I think you misinterpreted the point I was trying to make. Of course I have a problem with what she does for a living, but what she and that guy are doing is legal. You can argue about morality until the cows come home, but they aren't enslaving illegal immigrant women, and running a brothel.

Many years ago, I lost my faith in God. He pops up now and again to let me know that He does exist and is looking out for me. Everything happens for a reason, and we should be praying for Mary, not hurling insults at her. What course of action would turn a person around? Decent people who treat you with kindness, or a picket line screaming insults?

Does Scripture come out and say he participated in more than one? No. However, Acts 9:1 talks about him breathing threats and murder against the saints, and he certainly put many believers in prison. If he did not kill multiple Christians, it certainly was not for lack of desire.

You see no problem?

I see that you are inconsistent. People are either responsible for their own actions or they are not.

Re: "people can change and do good. Have faith!"

Allow me to repeat myself
"You are mistaken because you forget the woman at the banquet was a penitent, she was sorry for her sins. She washed His feet with her tears and dried them with her hair. The comparison is unjustified, I see no tears nor any act of penance from Ms Mary Carey that compares."

She is obstinate in her sin. It is not the same as being penitent. I have Faith but people who prop up sin make it harder for the likes of Ms Carey to wake up. You are an enabler.

Re: "The Ten Commandments"

Everyone but rarely have I seen a thief brag about it and expect a dinner invitation and then get indignant because someone hid the sterling. That is alright I am sure you and most of the rest of the country will get us to that point sooner of later. This country has abandoned the first 3 long ago the 60's took care of the 4th. The sexual revolution that continues without let up has work wonders freeing us of our apprehension of the 6th and 9th. You seem to be doing you part there.

What does that leave us with?
5. Thou shalt not kill (unless you are an inner city youth)
7. Thou shalt not steal (unless you are a politician or CEO of a major corporation)
8. Thou shalt not bear false witness (unless you are Democrat or a Clinton)
10. Thou shalt not covet thy neighbor's goods (unless you really really want them)

I for one am tired of the crap-weasel excuses from pseudo religious pontificators. Your attitude does nothing Christ like in reforming this woman but it goes a long way to creating more like her. This sort of thing has been going on so long and the social barriers to such Jezebels keeps coming down. Your way just isn't working after many many decades. Kinda like those who see a spike in teen pregnancies after beginning sex education classes, who think the answer is more money and more sex education. All evidence to the contrary has no effect.

Peddle your porno friendly ideas elsewhere. I'm not buying even if it does come in a brown paper wrapper.

I don't know who DID that, but I know who SAID it. John the beloved in his first epistle, first chapter last verse...

okay... so you are now saying it to??? to someone in particular? i guess not because you admit to not knowing who DID that... so you are now saying it to let people know you have a Bible? i'm wondering what your purpose is...

Thank you, kind sir. You are quite observant.

I believe that my views are not obtained lightly--and are defensible yet open to examination and modification, should that be appropriate...though never should anyone mistake that for a lack of extremely firm principles. :-)

I also would quite like such an evening as you have described, though I can't foresee when I will be back down in your lovely state. Please look for my FReepmail shortly, though, and maybe we can work something out. In any case, thank you for the respectful reply. As you noted, it's not something I get all the time.

"Maybe she figured it was either this or get a job with the IRS, and this sounded like more fun."

I don't know about this. It seems some Republicans became stupid while thinking they were smart with this deal. It happens. Look at the Rats for the last 18 months. Even though it's a single episode vs. ongoing behavior.

This dinner will get as much coverage as the Pope's death. And it will go over like a phart in Church with a lot of people. Nobody from the executive branch should meet these people.

Don't give her the mike unless she can talk about things bigger than herself. We don't need someone talking like a stripper onstage. Democrats do that with has-been Hollywood waifs; and not very artfully either.

If you knowingly, willfully, blatantly, habitually commit sin...and you feel no remorse, no grief, no sorrow, and have no conviction about that sin...then you have NO reason whatsoever to believe that you are a Christian. You had better repent and get saved.

John is teaching this in his epistle.
