I'd rather have porn stars in the GOP than socialists, any day. Is Jenny McCarthy a republican?

Maybe this is a good chance for Bush to condemn pornography.

On the other hand, didn't Christ instruct people to go and sin on more? I'm not worried about President Bush putting any moves on her and it's a free country (mostly, if you look the other way on a lot of things), if she paid for the chance she should be able to have the meal with the President. I just think she has something of a Ward Churchill problem when it comes to her Christianity. He claims he's an Indian, but there's no evidence. She claims to be a Christian, with no evidence.

She paid her ticket to eat the dinner. She's not doing a table dance there so GET OVER IT... dingbat.

Would you feel the same way about Godhatesfags founder, Fred Phelps? Would you see a problem with Bush having him at a dinner?

If nothing else, it should be an "interesting" dinner.

Scenic.

Moral Absolutes Ping.

Another article about the porn star attending the fundraising dinner with Bush etc. The reason I am pinging this one out is because of the heated discussion on the thread. Some of you might want to chime in.

Some people consider porn harmless or even beneficial. I do not and I think it is poor judgement on the part of the presidents' people to have the whore and her pimp attending the dinner.

If the Republican party is going to go the way of "fiscally conservative and socially liberal" a lot of people who vote "R" will vote "R" no longer. Another point is that the fiscally conservative/socially liberal philosophy is schizophrenic and begets huge social problems which demand more money, so it quickly turns into "socially liberal and fiscally liberal". As in gov't money for AIDS patients, welfare for abandoned mothers and children, methadone clinics, increased police for punks raised with no fathers creating mayhem, etc.

Let me know if you want on/off this pinglist.

But the word is that they bought the tickets to make an embarrassment of Bush

You obviously don't know the first thing about PR. They couldn't care less about Bush one way or the other. This is about getting free PR and visibility for your movies and your career.

I guarantee that many freepers will now be curious and rent this star's videos... or go to her live appearances.

Blatant prostitution is the Republican House and Senate forcing me to pay for wasteful pork. I am embarrassed when those whores associate themselves with a Republican party where 98% of the base opposes this wasteful spending. But we are forced to pay for their prostituion. That hypocrisy will be the downfall of the GOP, and the bad PR move, not a wacko porn star trying to get her 15 minutes.

Limited government, the absence of welfare state programs, and a free market economy place additional burdens upon the general public to conduct themselves in a moral manner. The upright atmosphere of the "repressive" Victorian era was far more the result of cultural injunctions against sloth, promiscuity, drunkenness, etc., and the effects of failure to live morally (poverty, venereal diseases, early death, etc.) than by various blue laws in force at that time. There is a historical parallel between the decline in adherence to traditional, Biblically based morality and the rise of the welfare state. (BTW, this decline started well before the 1960s.)

A society where pornography is as available as hot dogs and motor oil is incapable of sustaining the form of government that our Founding Fathers intended. As in the Roman Empire, central power will increase and liberty decrease as morals grow more debased.

If government spending were cut 50%, that would be a good start.

You put that in the plural, but is there evidence that Saul/Paul was involved in any more than Steven's stoning?

I am sure that Chaing Kai-Shek and Francisco Franco were preferable to Mao Tse-Tung and Fidel Castro. However, neither Chiang nor Franco would have been welcome in a party that believes in limited government and inalienable rights. Nor should an "adult entertainer" be welcome in a party that has come to hold the White House and both houses of Congress in part due to the support of conservative Christians and other supporters of traditional morality.

Moreover, the hypocrisy of the planners of this party is astounding. I do not doubt that even if the fellow who manufactures the barbecue sauce with the Confederate Battle Flag on its label contributed $250,000, he would receive a seat at the party. To at least certain members of the GOP, pornography is less troublesome than political incorrectness.

Good points. But since porn stars do exist, I'd much rather they pull the lever for conservative candidates. If the GOP consisted solely of conservative Christians, it would be a minority party with no power.

I for one would rather have a porn star in my church that knows the forgiving grace of YASHUA, Than a hundred tithers that live under the law.

"Would you invite them to your house for dinner?" Actually, I would, but on my terms not hers. I would make a concerted effort to feed her and through conversation point out to her what 'being in the family of Christ' really means. Then, if she came under God's Spirit conviction, lead her in the prayer of salvation. After that, God is more than able to relate to the young lady for the rest of her life here on earth. To spend an evening trying to argue why pornography is wrong and degenerating society would be wasted time when more important work is to be done. AFTER she's in the family, more involved discussion regarding the degeneracy of porn and why she cannot divide her soul to serve the lusts of the flesh and the destruction of the souls of others can occur.
