Unfortunately, you are right. The GOP gets crushed as conservatives throw in the towel:
1] GOP failed to protect our national sovereignty
2] Spineless once again on the filibuster, et al.
You know what our hope is now? Our only hope is that Free Republic.com and other sources of conservatives lead us into a 2nd American Revolution. Our only hope is with the people of this nation--grassroots conservatives, taxpayers and decent people who love freedom--to step forward and demand our nation be returned to us.
If we fail to have a 2nd American Revolution, we lose it all. The GOP has thrown up the French-like white surrender flag.
The GOP can still save themselves. Whether they save our nation, is another issue completely. 2006 will be a pivotal election year.

I am in agreement. However, one problem is that Hillary is well aware of the problem Free Republic, etc. can cause her---in fact, she saw the possibilities before we did, in 1995, and is on record expressing her concerns!
That is why, in my opinion, McCain/Feingold is trying to extend to cover the Internet. Unfortunately, our fate in the legislature is becoming quite difficult to follow. An ammendemnt was added to a bill a while back to exclude McCain/Fiengold from the Internet, but i don't know what happened there.
However, I consider it a top priority to figure it out on a continuous basis.
Without any doubt, there are a number of supergeeks following this somewhere, who could keep us informed. So far, however, i have been unable to find them.
