LOL. You're clearly not a conservative either, fwiw.
You are ignorant beyond comprehension. I have not been in a hospital in years and pay out of pocket for my care. Most hospitals could never survive without Medicare as most people in hospitals are elderly and do not pay out of pocket. But I guess that is fine with you if every hospital goes out of business.
Every public hospital, of course. Why should I be forced by the government to pay for other people's problems?
Private hospitals would do just fine with no public hospitals around.
You should try looking into capitalism sometime. It works.
LBJ himself wouldnt be happier hearing you advocate adding millions of mexicans to the welfare line.
Would LBJ be happy about that? Something's broken with your theory. (By the way, to think that Hispanics move to the US simply to collect welfare demonstrates that you know zero about the situation. The overwhelming majority of illegal immigrants collect no welfare at all.)
And why dont a larger amount of illegals recieve welfare? Fear of deportment. Eliminate that fear and the roles will soar.
deportation that is
LOL. Instead of trying to solve one government-created problem with another, why not just get rid of welfare?
I know, I know. Crazy idea.
(Fwiw, Texas is not only booming economically, but it is becoming more conservative, and Texas had the lowest level of taxation of all 50 states last year. Your immigration theories clearly have major holes in them.)
Which is likely to happen first a guest worker program or the elimination of welfare? hmm tough one. You libertarians just dont know how to set priorities.
It's sure not extinct in counties with majority Mexican or Black electorate Dawg.
And the Mexican populace will only grow. You're ignoring all empirical data....especially nationwide. The Mexican vote for Dems in Texas will only grow from here on. Bush got higher than usual since he is native son but the only reliable "hispanic" conservative voters are Cubans (God bless em) and various South American professional expats. Soon enough Texas will look blue enough like the Valley and Bexar look now.
....still waiting.
I'm not doing that at all. You are pointing to a static map. I am pointing to what has happened in a dynamic economy and society. Over 2-3 decades of a boom in Hispanic immigration, our country has done nothing but become more conservative and more capitalist. And the states where the Hispanic population has gone up are many of the states that have become much more capitalist (especially in the South).
Soon enough Texas will look blue enough like the Valley and Bexar look now.
15% Hispanic in 1976 -- Jimmy Carter
32% Hispanic in 2004 -- GWB (and Republicans state-wide)
Your theory has a million holes in it. Let me know when you can explain these away.
Kalifornia is now lost. It was once solid Republican. maybe you are too young to remember.
Florida is now in play every election. It was once solid Republican too. If it weren't for the Cubans it would be over there too.
Are you unaware of whom most Hispanics sans Cubans and middle class South Americans vote for?
Have you looked at the Kali stats from just 6 months ago?
What about Colorado?
Nevada?
Even Arizona will not hold up to this forever.
Texas saw Bush as a Native Son ...that never hurts plus other unique Tex-Mex qualities but it will catch up there too.
It's already affecting the vote elsewhere too. Illinois for example.
Go look it up.
Now as for Carter in 1976. Carter carried the entire South including MO and KY and TX.
The only southern state not for Jimmah was VA.
The Mexican community in Texas less than half the size it is now most assuredly voted overwhelmingly Dem just like many Anglos....including your's truly (I was 18). Your example only proves more Anglos voted Republican in 2004 than in 1976 and I would bet more Mexican-Americans did too for their homeboy. That is not the case anywhere else.
Outside of Texas, the Mexican vote is not much different than the Puerto Rican vote.
You comments on Hispanic states becoming more "capitalist" baffles me.
What were these states before? Socialist.
NYC is quite Hispanic....is it now more Capitalist?
Do you have an immigration viewpoint besides trying to claim the Mexican vote is more Conservative than it actually is?
"Our only hope is that Free Republic.com and other sources of conservatives lead us into a 2nd American Revolution."
I am in agreement. However, one problem is that Hillary is well aware of the problem Free Republic, etc. can cause her---in fact, she saw the possibilities before we did, in 1995, and is on record expressing her concerns!
That is why, in my opinion, McCain/Feingold is trying to extend to cover the Internet. Unfortunately, our fate in the legislature is becoming quite difficult to follow. An ammendemnt was added to a bill a while back to exclude McCain/Fiengold from the Internet, but i don't know what happened there.
However, I consider it a top priority to figure it out on a continuous basis.
Without any doubt, there are a number of supergeeks following this somewhere, who could keep us informed. So far, however, i have been unable to find them.
"Keep in mind the amnesty bill that may clear the way for alien / non-citizen voting. If we do not dump those that are trying to push this (in both parties), and this means you too Democrats... "
I agree with your point of view, but I am afraid Democrats generally do not. It seems to me, however, that Democratic lawmakers prefer to be silent on this issue for now, to let the Repubs fight among (and damage) themselves.
It is a fight (I agree with you) we have to have. Unfortunately, the Democratic party apparatus, in my opnion, has been taken over by the Hard Left. It seems their objective is to destroy the US, and they support anything that will do that, albeit they always give some other reason. We will have to see what their reason will be for supporting open borders, but I don't much care---the real unspoken reason will be to destroy the US.
...nothing yet.
