WASHINGTON All through last year's presidential race, Vietnam-era critics of Sen. John F. Kerry (D-Mass.) charged that he was trying to hide something by refusing to authorize the public release of his entire military and medical file.
On Tuesday, Kerry provided access to his complete records. The long-awaited documents contained no bombshells, and his enemies still were not satisfied.
The 180-page sheaf of medal commendations, officer's fitness reports and medical entries released under federal guidelines by Kerry's Senate office provided a few new nuggets of information about his 1968 to 1969 stint as a Swift boat commander during the Vietnam War.
There was one page from a January 1969 officer evaluation that appeared to back Kerry's claims that he had been well-rated by his superiors. During the heat of the 2004 campaign, some members of a group of anti-Kerry Navy veterans suggested that the then-missing document might provide a damning assessment of his wartime role.
Kerry said in a statement Tuesday that he had provided "unprecedented access" to his military and medical records during the campaign "and now months after it ended." In releasing the file, he said, "the facts speak for themselves and as these records prove, once again the right wing is wrong."
But Kerry's reluctance to provide easy access to records that buttressed his war resume remains one of the more puzzling aspects of his campaign strategy.
Pollsters and political scientists who have studied the race said that Kerry might have left himself vulnerable by reacting too slowly to criticism by pro-Bush veterans and their insistent calls for public access to all of his records. Kerry's move to release the file now, observers said, could inoculate him from similar pressure if he decided to run again in 2008.

OMG!!!!!!!! ROFLMAO
Ping!
By the way, I just saw your letter to the editor in the newspaper. It was very well written. As you know, I'm pretty conflicted about the judicial deal, but you made good points.
''I have signed it," Kerry said, according to Globe columnist Joan Vennochi, who noted the senator added that his staff was ''still going through it" and ''very, very shortly, you will have a chance to see it."
And there lies the rub. At no point has Kerry requested a full, nonredacted release of his military record from the National Personnel Record Center, which has custody of Kerry's complete record.
According to Steve Jones, a principal of Lyon Research, and a respected researcher, who specializes in culling data at the National Archives, the Library of Congress, and various military and museum repositories across the country, Kerry's full file could contain a number of other documents not released on Monday, such as documents that verify his status in the Reserves up to 1978.
But redirecting media and the public away from his full file appears to have been Kerry's plan all along, because he submitted his SF-180 to the wrong entity.
"It doesn't make sense that he is going through the Navy," says Jones. "Applying through the Navy gives this scenario the appearance of a personnel shuffle. Kerry said he applied to the Navy and the Boston Globe said they received his record from the Navy and that makes no sense when the relevant records are at the National Personnel Record Center, a part of the National Archives. By going through the Navy Kerry makes it appear that he is using the Navy to screen his file; he added a layer of bureaucracy when all he needed to do was sign an authorization allowing a third party to look at his record at the NPRC."
What is the difference between the Navy and the NPRC?
The Navy, which created the documents to begin with, is legally obligated to protect the privacy of the veteran. If, as many conspiracy theorists have posited, negative material was expunged from Kerry's file, the Navy could most likely only include the final version of a document. For example, if an individual were to have a received a less than honorable discharge, but were to have gained a full, honorable discharge some years later, only the honorable discharge order might appear in the Navy file, while all of the individual's documents might be in the NPRC file in St. Louis, Mo.
Jones, who has worked extensively at the NPRC and the National Archives, says that were Kerry to sign an SF-180 and authorize a third party full access to his NPRC records, more fodder would likely be found. "There is no way to know what is in his file unless an independent party looks at the file at the NPRC," says Jones.
Kerry true to form, continues his sharades. His whole life is one big lie.

There is no need to impeach Hanoi Kerry from the US Senate
He is there illegally!
WAKEUP AMERICA!
For those who "forgot" what Hanoi Kerry
did in the past read on and learn the truth.
Hanoi Kerry was still a USNR officer while he:
gave false hearsay testimony to Congress
negotiated with the enemy
helped the US lose a war
abetted in the deaths of millions
created a hostile environment for all servicemen
Why is Kerry still in the US Senate?
This is in violation of
U.S. Constitution Amendment 14 Sec 3

And the FBI has proof of his treason.

Kerry and Julia traveled to Paris, France and met with Madame Nguyen Thi Binh, the Foreign Minister of the Provisional Revolutionary Government of Vietnam (PRG), the political wing of the Vietcong, and other Viet Cong and Communist Vietnamese representatives to the Paris peace talks, a trip he now calls a "fact-finding" mission.

Swift Boat Veteran For Truth John O'Neill Comments on Kerry's 180 'Release'
6/7/05
http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-news/1418592/posts
Thank you Peach. I absolutely understand your concerns as I've said before. But at least 2 filibusters have ended so far.
The truth is self evident, despite the L.A. Times attempt at,"See,See-Kerry had nothing to hide!" If Kerry had nothing to hide and no reason to stall until after his records were illegally purged of every charge the Swift Vets brought against him-he would have released his records during the campaign, proving he was in fact, the Mr Wonderful he claimed to be and won the election by a land slide.
The only thing Kerry has revealed is something we already know and are repulsed by. Those with enough clout, money and gall, can turn sh*t into Shinola.
Kerry doesn't shine.........
Sorry.......... but I like the one where she's at the shooting range and her tight abdomen is exposed. Call me a pig.
;-)
That's the "Twinkie" Kerry and the MSM are waving under your nose. Don't bite.
Very good information; you have given a plausable explanation for the delay and why we haven't been given full access to his records. Thank you for providing that information from Steve Jones...I had not known that.
....That's the "Twinkie" Kerry and the MSM are waving under your nose....
!!!!A most excellent observation!!!!
"OK crowd, nothing more to see, now let's just move along!"
"...his enemies still are not satisfied". If this were a Republican with a potentially problematic past it would be THE MEDIA that are still not satisfied. And they still deny that the Mainstream Media is biased.
Relax!!!
James Taranto, Opinion Editor for the Wall Street Journal doesn't agree with either one of you. He's an extremely conservative in depth journalist and hardly a fan of either Kerry or the MSM. See his piece in today's WSJ for all the sordid details.
Powerlineblog.com has the most reasonable and likely explanation of how the Globe got the information through Kerry. MSM will push "he signed the 180 and the Right is still not satisfied" to cover Kerry.
Any fraud worthy of the name will withstand cursory attention...Kerry built a career on one. Like Limbaugh, Taranto, though generally on the mark, is not omniscient... he'll come around after due reflection and education.
In fact, you are partially right!
According to today's Wall Street Journal (James Taranto), the information that Kerry did not want the public to see was that his grades at Yale were in fact lower than now president Bush received.
The reason this was critical and needed to be hidden was that Kerry, Hollyweird, and the MSM were all consistently painting Kerry as an intellectual and W as an idiot. Kerry would have been hammered even worse had the public understood this at the time.
The logic and facts of the coverup are there.
Taranto is an arch conservative and his piece in today's WSJ is a gem!!!
As for the Sherlock Holmes advocates looking for furthur conspiracy....
