Steyn is usually spot on, and yes, the customer svc with US airlines is lacking, but I'm not ready to concede customer service to the arabs yet. I would like to see independent analysis to support his claim, otherwise, Steyn is rehashing the same air travel frustration we have all experienced for 20 years.
I am. I travel about 200,000 miles a year and the service on most US carriers is dreadful and getting worse. The reality is that air service in the US is quite similar to what happened to train service 40 years or so ago. The only thing proping up the airlines is the fact that foreign carriers cannot compete city to city within the US.
Its all about bad management and greedy Unions. Until that is fixed nothing will get better.
