"For the record: As critical as I feel compelled to be of the GOP's leadership right now, I still don't support the Constitution Party; primarily due to what I consider to be their totally wrong-headed position vis a vis the War.

I am and will always remain a republican, small 'r', but feel more each day the the Republican Party has seriously lost its way because of the power held by party hacks and liberals who have no conscience and hold to no principle but winning and holding power."

I think the biggest problem is a lack of perspective. People like CP and LP members are fun and all, but at the same time make up about 1% of the population. Philosophically, I probably agree with them 100% and am probably even more of a "small government" fellow than they are. Unfortunately, such people want things to be just as they want them to be. Unfortunately, 98% of the population does not want things the way that the 1 or 2% does, shocking, I know. We are still fortunate to have what we have here in America and not be France, or Britian, or any of the others. It took 200 years to turn us into the state we are currently in, reverting back won't happen overnight.

I wholeheartedly agree.

The problem isn't that they make up about 1% of the population. The problem is that between the two of them, they make up about 5% of the population, and unfortunately, that's enough to torpedo a close election.
