I didn't know nudity was allowed in catalogs over the mail without consumer consent.

The basic rule of thumb is that if pudenda show it's porn.

Leastwise that's the way we always interpreted it, and by "we" I mean the guys whose job it was to interpret it.

Nudity showing anything but pudenda was OK.

BTW, it's not an "affirmative response" sort of thing. If you don't want porn, identify the outfit on the form that you fill out at the post office, and those folks will be told to not send you any more of it.

Somebody else might!

(Talk about a job ~ maybe 10, 15 or so people in the US government have the job of reading porn on the clock to see if it's really porn, or if it violates the pandering statutes)

I think you had to order the catalog if gotten by mail or asked to be put on their catalog mailing list. Most were handed out to teenagers when they visited the stores and ask for it. (so parents wouldn't see it or find out)
