>A&F is about the hottest thing going in the malls, it seems like

I haven't shopped there
in many years, but they were
the very finest

store I've ever shopped.
(I have always assumed that
their catalogue stunts

were tongue-in-cheek jokes.)
Heck, I still have a fly rod
and reel I bought there.

Stores that sell first rate
fly rods and reels are not spawn
of Satan's minions!

Sadly, the A&F of our youth is gone beyond recall.

All that was bought was the name. They don't sell ANY sporting goods or camping equipment any more. Just trendy teen clothing. Probably most of the help have never even seen a fly rod, let alone in the store.

Back when A&F was still A&F and located in Phipps Plaza here in Atlanta (the upscale mall), we used to shop there quite a bit. We coveted the high end English rifles . . . Peter Capstick the professional hunter came into town and held a book signing there. We got all his books signed and then had a drink with him when the crowd thinned out.

Sadly, A&F was losing its customers even then, and the crowd wasn't near as big as it should have been for a draw like Capstick.
