Abercrombie and Fitch and its subsidiary Hollister have shown an unusual degree of anatagonism to the name of Christ and an unusual display of wickedness in their promotions.
In protest, we will not allow articles of clothing displaying their logos to we worn, carried or displayed. (even if covered or masked in some way)

Nice knockers on the top one, though.
But I wouldn't marry it.

"But I wouldn't marry it."
rofl... right...
not to be insensitive bud, but more likely it would be the other way around... with either you or me.
and fwiw... SHE would be the first to point out, that she is not an 'it'.
The white hat style from the impressionist era, pretty much guarantees they WON't play 'touch' football with you at the beach... or eat pizza and beer with you after the sun sets.

I'm not aware of any colleges that have rules requiring their students to look and act like depraved Hollywood whores and fags. Neither am I.
What I thought I said was that many college age people today try to look and act similar to the sleazy Hollywood entertainers they idolize. Since many of those aren't attending a college, their appearance and behavior have nothing to do with college rules AFAIK.
I'll try to compose clearer sentences next time.

They are certainly free to do this since they are a private school. Watch their enrollment drop.

Nobody is required to enroll in this private school. I think the ban is silly. However, they are within their rights to set a dress code.

With regard to "sweatshops," the alternative to working in one in these countries is to make much much less. When you boycott them, you are only hurting the employees. You can't expect a third world country to pay US economy wages.

A & F suffered a great deal of adverse publicity over hiring only people with a certain look. The liberals yelled loudly over them not hiring minorities.
I wonder if this is an extension of this?

Changing the subject to prove your point only proves you were wrong in the first point.
Bob Jones made their rules according to the times of this day, and there is NO Biblical command concerning beards, that was a choice made because men have made the wearing of facial hair a fashoin statement and often an absurd fashion statement these days, so, in their rights to make the rules because it is THEIR college, not yours, they CHOOSE to outlaw facial hair.

Let's have a REAL look at what they advertise:
I posted it small so as not to offend the faint of heart but I for one can certainly see why BJU banned it. There's a bare chested woman holding a shirt over the crotch of her boyfriend in the middle of a group.
Now let's say a future youth leader walks around sporting an A & F t-shirt - what's he promoting?

Changing the subject to prove your point only proves you were wrong in the first point.Too bad I didn't change the subject. If you notice my first post includes the word "beard" (which is facial hair).

So, the objections have nothing to do with the actual clothing, rather the way that clothing is promoted? By extension, the person who wears clothing, regardless of its actual design, that is promoted in a racy catalogue is advocating the racy lifestyle portrayed in that catalogue.
let this sink in for a moment.
Okay, moment up...hopefully you see that it's a long grasp to find something objectionable in otherwise boring designs.

I'm with ya, buddy! Love the winner painting, that Benson looks like it dates from the 1890's maybe if I go by the fashions, one of my favorite part of history is the Victorian/Edwardian era. I also enjoy the art from the time, Renoir is a favorite of mine.
Here is a couple:
A dress for the Winter Dance, January 15th, 1911 issue of the Ladies' Home Journal by illustrator M. E. (sometimes Emma) Musselman, one of my favorite artists and illustrators.
From the March 1910 issue of "The Delineator," illustration by Karl Kleinschmidt, another artist I like.
I might differ from some here, but I like the clothing back then or even the 1950's, it had a more dignified look. I'm not a prude by any means but dressing do far down to where the belly is showing, well, I'm not a fan of that, I'll just leave it that way.
I also love the magazines of that time, you can find good stories in there, many by writers like Rudyard Kipling and L. Frank Baum (who wrote "Wizard of Oz"), I'm also a fan of literature from that period. I also like the art of Howard Chandler Christy, Charles Dana Gibson and other artists of that era.

they tell us one of the first guys to wear a wristwatch and popularized it in our culture... was a flaming gay... the supposedly romantic and dashing rudolf valentino....
does that mean that any guy who wears a wristwatch is also, very likely, gay?

For those of us with a sense of decency it's not a long grasp. For others like you - I suppose it is. It's REALLY not that hard to understand. A Hooters shirt is an owl with really large orange letters on the front of it. There's nothing wrong with that - but it doesn't mean the preachers wife should be wearing it. Why....let it sink in a moment.
Having said that, why DO people pay $30 for an ugly shirt with someones logo on it?
To: Tamar1973
Rest of World X thousands (all controlled by ZOG) BJU purists 1. Sorry but I'll take the RoW given that there is where progress and humanity get the most benefit.
Someone could pay their tuition with earnings as a porn star BJU better worry about that too.

You and I may believe that, but the Black Robed Deities of the USSC have ruled otherwise. Get used to it.
