What these pro-criminal groups will do is ask the government to require every US bound flight to set aside a seat or three to accept free-boarders without papers who we can't detain once in the USA. Actually there were several successful escapes from Cuba in the seventies, along with several poorly planned failures.

The key was that it is only 90 miles to Miami from Cuba so the temps and oxygen deprivation are not as big a problem.
