PIT manuver. I wasn't aware the CHP knew how to do those. I thought they just let criminals run forever?

They generally reserve the maneuver until safe due to huge liability issues.

they didnt want the armed suspect to head into downtown, which is minutes to the west...they closed all the onramps, and the freeway was thinned out enough to do the PIT maneuver....

LAPD has also changed their policy to include the PIT Maneuver to end chases quickly.
