CHP pursuit of kidnap suspect broadcast live nationwide.
OMG! You're Naughty!!! LOL!!!
Extreme prejudice. I like that. If I am not mistaken, the governor is ultimately in charge of the Highway Patrol. If enough people email and fax him about this latest mess, maybe he'll work with LE to bring about better solutions. They have to be taken out, as a deterrent to other criminals.
Well, he may be, however, he could have had a legitimate mental condition, emotionally fried, under the influence of drugs, I don't know.
But it was clear the cops did not want to just kill this guy, otherwise they easily could have done that hours ago.
Anything could have been going on in this guys head, he could have been emotionally distraught, who knows. Pretty sad for him really. Main thing was no one else was killed or injured, and looks like it ended well for everyone except this guy, with a minimum of multiple nasty dog bites...And the people stuck in traffic.
Watch what you ask for. They are already trying to install remote ingnition cut off switches in new vehicles. No easy answers to pursuits involving dangerous people.
I'll wager it was an illegal substance that set him off.
Dressing as a deliveryman and trying to kidnap a woman? Bizarre. I bet he knew her.
Anyways I'm glad the ordeal is over. I bet thousands of commuters are too. Hopefully this loser will get some professional help ASAP.
Any word as to reasoning behind all this? The motives of the bum?
did you give yer pooch any scraps??
Moi????
I had some Ice Cream after I posted that.
It was not a mere arrest. It was the tail-end of an attempted kidnapping, where the suspect showed two weapons. After being stopped by the police he refused lawful orders to surrender and to give up his weapons. To put an officer in jeopardy would be wrong. They have every right to disable the suspect in the manner used. It was not excessive in the least. He could have turned himself in at any time.
I was in a school bus in an anti-terrorism exercise several years ago (I got volunteered to play a hostage), and the entry team dropped at least two of them in the bus while they were storming it. They shock (not electric) the hell out of you - that's why I say "at least two." That's how many I thought I counted. It was - amazing - to say the least.
Cool! Did they sic a German Shepherd on you, too?
You're right. I'm just talking about the subject of freeway chases, and how they can stop it with the weapons they have on hand. Maybe this is why people are raiding junkyards for "fixable antiques".
Yes, Shep Smith about to show it on the Foxnews Hour
Nope - but the entry team did a hell of a job taking out the bad guys without taking out any of the hostages.
Speaking of the dogs - I found this link for a pretty interesting video of attack dogs:

Well as usual the cops have shut down traffic both ways on a major freeway and guess what thousands of of the majority are inconvenienced by another brilliant decision.
The cops have gotten so politically correct......... Oh crap just forget it.
Shutting down, major storms coming on!
L8R!!
Hang on....don't give up.
Stay safe, Friend.
