How about all the truckers who could be docked for running behind schedule? Oh man.... Exactly. And the missed meetings; lost time at work that jams up what people are doing there. There is a huge loss beyond inconvenience happening.
It ain't funny. - I can hope that we might have a "Network" moment in Calif tonight.
I'm as mad as hell, and I'm not going to take this anymore!"

Is there any reason they couldn't have done that flash-bang/K-9 a couple hours ago?

From reports earlier they said this has never happened in their memory where the entire freeway was shut down and a standoff last this long. Maybe not in lA but it did happen here in San Diego not too long ago. The woman was nuts, obviously, and the fwy was shut down for hours.

What breed is he?
Appeared to be a German Shepard. It appeared that he was tasered too, as looking closely you could see wires exdending from the suspect to one of the officers.
Man, that dog did him a number.

Sandy, don't quote me on this, but I think the flash bomb creates noise and smoke - not gas. Someone else here might know more.

That was my thought exactly while I was watching it.

Sandy, don't quote me on this, but I think the flash bomb creates noise and smoke It creates a sizable concussion too, that can actually knock a suspect out momentarily.
Looking for saved video of the dog tearing this guy up.
To: Black Tooth
When I got on a bit after 5 eastern, I mentioned the taser.
Once again, Freepers provide the solution. Good to take the pos down - but five hours??? Just wrong.

most devices currently in widespread use contain a metal powder that violently combines with a salt containing oxygen. When this mixture aluminum and potassium perchlorate is ignited by a grenade-style fuse, an explosion takes place within the body of the device. This creates a zone of extreme pressure nearby
