no, i'm being realistic. We've had a two term president that is very conservative.(which i like) However, most of the US voters are moderate in thinking and with the polarization of both parties, people are just getting fed up with extremes. The reason the DNC lost is because they were hijacked by the extreme left of the party. If the same happens to the GOP where a minority of voters in the gop pick the 08 candidate like Pence or Tancredo, we are going to get walloped by a moderate democrat. Of course if hillary won their nomination, we could put up a horse and win.
Do you think Hillary would do better than Kerry? I do. Kerry was the most liberal senator from the most liberal state in the country. He was uncharismatic, had a phony war record, testified before Congress that his fellow veterans were war criminals, and was a member of a radical anti-war group that plotted the assassination of US officials. Added to that, he had a kooky wife who made him the wealthiest man ever to run for the Presidency.
Despite all of this, Kerry lost to a sitting wartime President presiding over a good economy with low unemployment by a mere 35 electoral votes.
Hillary will have more money, better name recognition, a more moderate voting record, and a superior political organization than Kerry. She will be the odds on favorite to win it all. We make a big mistake underestimating her.
Are you calling George Bush part of the "extreme" right of the party - after signing the campaign finanace law, medicare "reform" and the expansion of the federal role in education with NCLB?
Your problem is that you accept the Dim's and the MSM's talking points, by which they want to portray anything they don't like as "controversial" (originalist judges) or "extreme" (let states' voters decide things like abortion and "gay" marriage). The fact is that very few Democrats are "moderate"; they have been so far-left of the majority of Americans for so long, they take their own leftist positions as "moderate". The MSM has worked its way with you and many Americans, portraying a sizeable congressional majority (that a majority of Americans elected) as "extreme" and an extremist, obstructing minority as "moderate". You only add to the shame of that myth and give it undeserved power by buying into it.
Hillary would wipe the floor with McCain.
