My first election was in 1988 when I voted for Bush the Elder. In all the years since, I've voted for exactly two RATS: Senator J. Bennett Johnston in 1990 against David Duke, and Chris John in 1996 against a John Edwards, trial-lawyer clone in a US House race. Louisiana and it's goofy "open-blanket primary" forced that one on us....

If Felt was such a hero, why did he choose to reveal the confidential stuff to the most liberal paper around rather than going to a grand jury or to Congress? He is a traitor to the FBI and worse than Nixon by far.

I was a year too young, but I did get to shake his hand in at a Young Republican rally in San Diego in 72.

I agree with most of that but want to point out that even had Nixon won IL in 1960 he still would have lost the Electoral Count. The issue is that Texas may have also been stolen by the LBJ machine. That would have put him over the top.
