The point I'm trying to make here is, there's no reasoning with some people, we were willing to give this guy 8 times the market value, and he still wouldn't budge because of his property's sentimental value

The property owner can price his property as he chooses for whatever reasons he chooses. You can meet the price or not, and that IS reasonable regardless of your plans. That's freedom, that's property rights and that's Just.

Agreed. More for our pal "Azalea." The bike shop owner has a lot of reasons to "overprice" his property. For starters, he's been at that same location for 35 years. Moving to a new location would deeply cut his sales. With many retail locations, people visit "out of habit," because it's on the way to someplace else. Whether it's another store, a relative, a bar..
