New York Senator Hillary Clinton blasted the press on Monday for going too easy on President Bush, complaining that reporters are letting his administration get away with the worst abuse of power in American history.
"There has never been an administration, I don't believe in our history, more intent upon consolidating and abusing power to further their own agenda," said Mrs. Clinton, whose own administration collected FBI files on opponents and had accusers audited by the IRS.
Addressing a gathering of "Women for Hillary," she urged journalists to go after the Bush White House.
"Where are the investigative reporters today?" she demanded, in quotes picked up by the New York Times. "Why aren't they asking the hard questions?"
Though the press has yet to question her, for instance, about an array of scandals - including reports last month that the Clinton administration's Viagra mandate ended up providing the impotence drug to sex offenders - Mrs. Clinton said she was shocked by the press' pro-Bush bias.
"It's shocking when you see how easily they fold in the media today," she complained. "They don't stand their ground. If they're criticized by the White House, they just fall apart."
Mrs. Clinton repeated her call for the media to get tough with Bush, addressing reporters in absentia:
"I mean, c'mon, toughen up, guys, it's only our Constitution and country at stake. Let's get some spine."
Ah, looks like she's taking a page out of Howard Dean's book.
HUH??
Specifics, Hillary, specifics.
Or is that just more RAT rhetoric? Or just plain lies?
How Hillary expects to be treated.

It shivered me timbers, it did.
But then, I've got a filthy mind, I do
Did they edit off her recommendation "Try it you'll like it!"?
Please MSM, probe deep into Hillary.

This witch doesn't have much room to criticize, IMHO????
I pray you are right....I had a friend, who died of cancer last year, who thought Hillary was the best....we argued all the time and I could never convince her how rotten Hillary was...she went to her grave believing that someday I would see the light and come to admire Hillary as she did....Im afraid there might be a lot of women out there like my friend
Referring to Hillary as Hillbilly is an insult to all Hillbillies. She is from Chicago.
According to Tradesports, where all sorts of athletic, political and assorted other propositions may be traded, Hillary is just below 50-50 to get the democrat nomination. The democrats are just over 50-50 to win the election. which means that there is approximately one chance in four that our worst fears will be realized. If you're sure that her chances are zilch, go to Tradesports and make some money.
pffft. It's NewsMax beating their tabloid drums again.
Gee. I wonder if "the press" will get its lacy panties all in a wad over being told how to do its job like it did when President Bush's press secretary supposedly told them after that fake Newsreek story.
Actually, I vacillate between different names for her---I haven't quite figured out how I want to refer to her...
I started calling her Hillbilly, not referring to hillbillies, but combining the Hill in her name, and adding her husband's name on the end, because if she ever became president, we KNOW that billy-boy will be in the Oval Office just as much as her---we will truly NEVER know whose calling the shots...therefore a true co-presidency-Hillbilly!!!
But, I heard Rush Limbaugh refer to her as Mrs. Bubba last week, and I kinda like that also...
The ONLY reason Hillary has a shot at the W.H. is because of her husband's last name. This woman would be lucky to be elected into the House if not the fact she has clung to Bill's coattails.
She doesn't have a face men love. Strike One.
She's a shrew. This is not an endearing quality to the majority of women on Left and right. Strike Two.
She is a poor speaker, without a trace of warmth. Political instincts are sketchy at best, though with better advisors than Kerry. She is a known coward that cannot take a position on anything without focus polling. 24/7 coverage of this woman will not be favorable to her.
Does this mean if the DEM candidate she wouldn't have a chance? Of course not. Any Dem has a 50/50 chance at the W.H. once nominated. yet it isn't the candidate they select I concentrate on. It's their base. It's their base that votes, it is their base that puts out ads at moveon.org, and it is their base that pulls together fraud and slashes the tires of Republican get out the vote transportation.
'08, imo, will not be a battle between Dem candidate and Rep candidate. The candidates chosen can help or hinder a campaign but it won't really be about them. This is going to be an all out warfare between us the loons that sent Boxer roses. Between Talk radio/net/cable and the MSM. The candidtes are almost an afterthought.
