New York Senator Hillary Clinton blasted the press on Monday for going too easy on President Bush, complaining that reporters are letting his administration get away with the worst abuse of power in American history.
"There has never been an administration, I don't believe in our history, more intent upon consolidating and abusing power to further their own agenda," said Mrs. Clinton, whose own administration collected FBI files on opponents and had accusers audited by the IRS.
Addressing a gathering of "Women for Hillary," she urged journalists to go after the Bush White House.
"Where are the investigative reporters today?" she demanded, in quotes picked up by the New York Times. "Why aren't they asking the hard questions?"
Though the press has yet to question her, for instance, about an array of scandals - including reports last month that the Clinton administration's Viagra mandate ended up providing the impotence drug to sex offenders - Mrs. Clinton said she was shocked by the press' pro-Bush bias.
"It's shocking when you see how easily they fold in the media today," she complained. "They don't stand their ground. If they're criticized by the White House, they just fall apart."
Mrs. Clinton repeated her call for the media to get tough with Bush, addressing reporters in absentia:
"I mean, c'mon, toughen up, guys, it's only our Constitution and country at stake. Let's get some spine."
This is going to bite the RATS in the rear.
Thanks for the ping!
Will Teresa Moran of ABC demand of Hillary "Who made you editor of Newsweek, New York Times, etc.?"
I guess I better not hold my breath waiting.
Yup. She's a Cunning Runt candidate in 2008.
I nearly puke at the sound of her name.
Ping to read at work.
Here it is, 6:40 am, I just got up, jumped on FR, and found your post.
Now I'm throughly nauseated, my day is shot...
Damn, the thought of that scares the hell out of me.
Thanks for nothing...
Trying to change the subject from her hideous self.
And this b!tch actually talked about China???
After she and that bafoon sold out this country to China for $$.
I detest her.
BRING IT ON...you b!tch!
"Isn't it interesting that Hitlery is calling upon her minions in the leftist press..."
"Minions" is right. What's interesting is that Hillary is doing two opposite things at once.
1) building on the new Big Lie of the Left---the MSM has a Right Wing Bias.
2) Taking direct command over the MSM, now a servant of the Hard Left. Hillary is in charge of the Democratic Party, obviously, now the mainstay of the Hard Left in the US. Here, she simply is issuing a command to a group of subordinates.
3) The fascinating part will be how the MSM will build credibility for the new Big Lie. I presume they will do this by picking some unimportant issue on which the administration is on weak ground and blatantly support the administration. Then they will extensively report on what they themselves did. More realistically, there would need to be 2 or 3 such issues.
I'll admit, I'm losing confidence for 2008 as I contemplate this scenario.
{To exit from my Ping list, just send me one request to that effect, public or private.}

..."Why aren't they asking the hard questions?" ...
And what questions would that be, Your Shrillness? You are a U.S. Senator aren't you? Ask them yourself.
She's just pandering to the Bush bashers. Still, from where she's coming from, it's pretty ironic of her to call for a probe of anyone when she'd be number one on the list of somebody who deserved one.
Thank goodness for the conservative media, radio talk
shows, and the internet. More and more people are
watching/reading/listening/surfing every day.
We DO have to make sure the correct information is
available everywhere we can.
We lose, if we snooze.
Now...one word about this headline.
YIKES! That's a visual I could do without. ;o)
Thanks for the ping!
"If you're sure that her chances are zilch, go to Tradesports and make some money."
Intresting. Just went there, thinking I would bet that she would nominated, which seems like a certainty to me. But when face with the possibility of betting, I seemed less certain.
"she has/would sell her 6ick, 6ick, 6oul"
definately past tense--she has sold her soul.
"Unless the Dems find a candidate who can win Heartland states, they have *ZERO* chance of winning, nationally."
How about a little realism here. The GOP margin of victory was 135,000 votes in Ohio. In 2000, the margin in Florida was even less. We can lose. If we win, it will largely be due to the effort we expend and how smart we are about it---as well as external factors such as the war in Iraq and if the terrorists have any successes.
"she wants to give the illusion that the media is being good to Bush"
Good angle. I agree. Also, Hillary is the Commander of US LeftWing Forces now. Occassionally, she has to give directives to the Media Troops.
Nope, not my work. The picture represents the RAT leadership and they are all guilty of undermining the war effort. This is the best they got, and it ain't much.
