Since 1992, AOPA President Phil Boyer has held Pilot Town Meetings across America, reviewing national developments in General Aviation and engaging pilots on local GA issues. In more than 330 such meetings, Boyer has set the pace for direct communication with the nation's pilots.

AOPA's Pilot Town Meetings offer pilots and aircraft owners a lively forum in which to discuss matters that are important to them, exploring issues and concerns with AOPA's president and with each other.

For the Aviation Ping List. I'm certain Phil Boyer will have ALL the details on the recent D.C. ADIZ "incursions"! Should be an interesting meeting. Locations in Woodland Hills (6/7th), San Carlos (6/8th), Sacramento (6/9). Link to the website for your areas' location.

Every pilot in this country should be a member of the AOPA. These guys really stick up for pilots!

I have to admit that at the last meeting in Florida, I was ticked off and let them know that I was voting with my feet.

That was well before the airspace intrusion, and personally, I have zero problems with anyone being sanctioned for intruding Bravo in DC.

Were I the one standing on my tail to fly that slowly on intercept - well...

I saw Phil a few years ago when he swung by.

And... I've been in email contact with him on several occasions. He has always responded to my emails and has been a great help to us (IAC crowd).

Oh, surely.

At that time we were being subject to endless, organized attempts to, more or less, run GA out of towm.

In Stuart, a local committee named SOS, which seems to recontitute itself every few yeays on just about any issue, was blocking all development of Witham field (even tried to have it moved out West), and another had succeded in voting in serious restrictions on training in KFPR.

Now Kfpr was an easy one to overturn, given federal funding in the past, but Stuart was tough, and being ignored at that time.

Things have changed since then after some legal battles, and I have no problems at all with the AOPA, but at the time I was frustrated.

I took my PP ASEL practical test today. The examiner hit pretty hard on FDC NOTAMS and airspace restrictions. Not surprising I suppose.

Here in CA seems in every issue of AOPA magazine there are pages of airport battles-in-progress.

We're fortunate that we have an organization that will go to bat when, and where, it can.
