The proper course for patriots now is to destroy Gregoire. A massive psychological warfare campaign -- name-calling, truth-telling -- is called for. We need to make the people of Washington hate her guts, as they came to hate Gray Davis in California. We must work at this every day, little by little destroying whatever popularity she has among centrist voters. And making damned sure that she doesn't BECOME popular. '08 is a long time from now, and a lot can happen. Voters will NOT remember the '04 coup unless they are REMINDED constantly. Good things NEVER happen by themselves. We need to MAKE them happen.

There's no way Rossi had a chance in the rigged Washington courts. And Rossi has no chance with the liberal activist Washington supreme court.

However, this legal action did successfully get a lot of information about King County shenanigans into the public eye. Even die hard dems in Washington are disgusted with Gregiore and the King County den of election thieves.

What are the recall rules in Washington? Gregoire wouldn't stand a chance (without an even more blatant fix).

"Had the Republicans appealed to the Supreme Court, GOP lawyer Harry Korrell said, they likely would have argued that Bridges wrongfully rejected the statistical proposal and misinterpreted the laws."

The problem was that the Republicans argued the wrong arguments. What they should have showed was that the number of invalid/illegal voters exceeded the margin of error. Garbage in = garbage out. This judge - ignoring this fact - decided that it truly does not matter whether a vote is invalid or not. What does it matter, then, if there are 1,800 invalid votes or 180,000 invalid votes? To this judge, that is just fine. Ridiculous and idiotic.

"What this leaves us with, is essentially that we have no election challenge statue in Washington."

And that's the net legacy of this contest: The Democrats who run the elections system in this state now know for a fact that there is nothing anyone can do to correct election fraud. Under this ruling, which is now established law, poll workers can brazenly, openly stuff ballot boxes, and as long as the county certifies the results, there is nothing the Secretary of State or any court can do to change the result. We are actually worse off than if Rossi had decided not to pursue the challenge, because the Democrats know that as a matter of law they can literally get away with anything.

Moreover, the Democrats' fear that Gregoire would be turned out of office drove them to desperation and overreach, hiking taxes through the roof and branding every bill "an emergency" to put it beyond the reach of referendum. Normally this would be insane, but they felt they only had one year to advance their agenda so they had to take chances. Well, turns out Washington voters are even more sheeplike and powerless than anyone imagined. That, combined with the certain knowledge that no Democrat will ever lose another election here, will wipe away the last vestiges of restraint on the legislature.

Those of us on the East side are particularly screwed. The West side already controls water rights (with the second largest river in America running THROUGH the eastern half). An initiative passed that forced Hanford to cleanup everything prior to any acceptance of more material. It was based on FEAR of nuclear waste by the non thinking leftist in the West.

With all the rules, the "you can't do this" control, and "you can't stop us" mentality, I have said, "OK, you win". I am already setting to move out of the small city I live in to go to a larger metropolis. Seattle area was a decent choice a couple of years ago, but I see no advantage to start a business in Washington State. Those in power hate people like me, so I will not give them any benefits from my hard work.

It is really, really time to move on this State of Eastern Washington idea, but I don't know how to go about doing that. Any experts out there in political/constitutional law know how to go about founding another state?

The State of EW would have quite a lot of clout, too. The Seattle 'Rats start acting up, turn off their power and make them run on their blow-hard windmills.

Intentional fruad on certification forms, breaking election law by marking up ballots during the canvassing process, almost two thousand illegal votes, only a 134 vote margin. The judge ignores it and keeps the democrat in office.

We were actually told that WE had to be able to name who the felons voted for. On a secret ballot. And since when is felon testimony acceptable in court? If they mostly vote Dem, wouldn't they lie and say they voted Rossi to keep her in office anyway? And why would they admit they voted in the first place and get charged with another crime?

This is a precedent alright, a precedent for ELECTION FRAUD on a NATIONAL scale. "Calling all RATs, ballot stuffing is OK because no one can prove which candidate was voted for! Now go forth and multiply!"

Way to go, cowardly judge.

Recall ONLY allowed if you can prove the official intentionally committed a crime. It's is not like California. We really need to overhaul our laws. :(

I think it obvious that the ruling of the so-called judge is ridiculous.

Of course it is rediculous. But, first the guy wears an earring. That should say something about his character. Second, he is a State employee. WA is run by democrats. If he ruled the other way he would already be on his way to 'night court' at Medical Lake.

The conservative blogs and talk shows should be all over this one, all over the country. This is a dark day for the republic, and we need to turn up the rage.

Yeah, the earring was a bad sign. That said, I have no trouble believing that the Republicans didn't handle this case as well as they could have. When do they?

It may take a technique like the free state project. Businesses would thrive though. Cheap power, lots of land, few trees (just sagebrush), and very low taxes.

I have lots of ideas myself, but lack the facilities to accomplish them. Though I am working on that.

Though the West Side would not like losing the wine and beer
from southeastern Washington.

I read a post on Dem. Und. that said "what would eastern WA be without western WA? Poor.
My response? What would western WA be without Eastern WA? Hungry, cold, thirsty, and sober enough to know it. We've got more food, electricity, and drink (hops, grapes, etc.) It's hard to get water and a warm house without electricity.

This one may have been telegraphed like the Clinton impeachment trial. Remember what Stevens said in that one? They could have eyewitnesses and videotape of Clinton raping and then shooting a woman dead on the front lawn of the WH, and the Senate still wouldn't get enough votes to remove him. Same deal here. No matter what the Rossi team put on in the trial, the judge would never find in his favor. The judicial system in this country is just too moribund when it comes to any notion of justice. They're more enthralled with process and stare decisis than doing the right thing.

But the more I think about what this "Judge" said in rebuking the petitioners about using the broken and corrupt electoral process in WA state to fix that same corrupt process, the more I think maybe he's just more of an idiot than corrupt. I mean, think about it. Use the broken, corrupt process that robbed you in the first place (which is why you're in court in the first place) to fix it up. IOW, use a broken tool to fix the broken tool. Anyone here ever tried that? I have. It doesn't work. You're better off throwing away the broken tool and getting a new one. Saves you a lot of time and heartache.

I think an important consideration would be to bring in those counties and other political entities that, when brought together, will be reasonably self-sufficient. Cutting yourself loose from the shackles of the tyrants in Olympia will come at a cost. You'll have to be prepared to go it alone to a large extent.

But, like you say, there are a lot of resources already in place. Probably the most valuable is hydropower, as well as the Columbia nuclear station. Electricity is a valuable commodity, something the Seattlites won't do very well without (as the people at Microsoft will likely agree, as well as the Boeing folks). I'd say use that as leverage when it comes to making agreements with Western Washington.

I say go for it. I mean, what are they gonna do, come after you armed with earrings and Starbucks coffee mugs?

I just learned this now. I don't get how Americans can truly believe that Bush stole the election. Democrats steal elections - just keep counting until the numbers are what you want. I don't know how the judge can uphold this crime.
