I seriously doubt the author knew this, and I'm convinced that absolutely no race connotation was involved in any way; however, I wouldn't be surprised if others dismiss the salient points of the article or the "I've had enough of your whiny crap" attitude because of it.
And if they do complain, I DON'T CARE.
