It's sort of like how "holy cities" sprung up overnight in Iraq, hitherto unknown. Purpose being to hamstring US forces, which are well-known for making every attempt to avoid causing damage to such sites. So, just make them up for tactical advantage, knowing that the MSM in the US will run with it, for two reasons: one, they're clueless about religion at best, and, two, they're not exactly cheering for a US success in the region.

Well .. we have laws for destroying property; malicious mischief .. that kind of stuff. We have no need to go around killing people over it.
But .. Arab nations live by the sword. If you commit a crime you die - they're raised that way so I don't know why people expect them to act civilized.
