I have a weird relationship with Hip Hop. By and large, I despise it. But I DID go nuts over Hey Ya! by Outkast (until it was killed by being over played, sigh...). I was really excited by it, since it seemed to mix various styles to good effect.

I bought the album, and liked SOME of what I heard, but overall didn't stay with it. It DID rekindle my love of 70s R&B, so I dusted off my Best of The Bros. Johnson and HeatWave CDs.

My friend is a big fan of The Black Eyed Peas and Disposable Heroes of HipHoprysy, but i've yet to hear much of them.

LOL, "hey ya" was proof that there is more innovation in onehip-hop band (Outkast) than in all of "rock" music. It was so good however, it was overplayed into the ground. I like some of their other stuff too.
