Your math is incorrect.:)
To: patton
Your BMI is actually 29. You goofed on the formula.

Better start stocking up on nonperishable goodies before they become unavailable. The greatest thing is that the vast majority can be made of the simplest things that will never become unavailable.

Will this cause a prohibitive "Big Mac Tax?"
To: SheLion
Now we're gonna see companies refusing to hire people who eat in their off-time.

"Obesity, which is a risk factor for chronic diseases like diabetes, is calculated using the body mass index (BMI) -- dividing weight in kilograms by height in meters squared."
(kg)/(m)^2=(lbs/2.2)/("/39)^2, no?

I've read of a handful of studies linking reading and eye disease (glasses).
The cost of a lifetime of eye glasses and Dr. appointments must easily top the costs of smoking and obesity combined.
The only solution is to ban newspapers and force everyone to listen to talk radio.

Yes, that's it. I tried it with your stats and got just under 29. You went wrong somewhere.
To: patton
Did I misread the formula? Either that or you mixed metric units with English units.

Now that's what I call eating----I avoid anything that says "low fat"or "low carb". They just add chemicals and tons of sodium to make it remotely edible.
Now you've gone and made me hungry,Cobra64.
Thanks a lot !!!!!!!!

"(kg)/(m)^2=(lbs/2.2)/("/39)^2"
(215/2.2)/(72/39)^2=(97.73)/(1.85)^2=(97.73)/(3.42)=28.57
Whoops - about 29. I forgot to square the denominator. LOL. That will teach me to get a degree in math. LOLOLOL
It is STILL junk. I am in no way obese.

As I said, it one indicator that is used along with others. Any good BMI site/literature will you that. And 29 isn't rated as obese anyway.

Body fat and waste measurements are used in addition to the BMI Waste measurements??Uh, I don't think that's what you mean. Perhaps waist measurements? Easier to measure or at least more pleasant.
