Um, maybe because she's 18 and went with 100 people?

Because at 18, she's an adult and if she is truly determined, they have no legal recourse.
MY daughter is 13.
I have made sure she knows about this case, but I am waiting for it to pan out before I bring it to her attention again.

Please don't blame the parents. An 18-year-old is legally an adult. She was with a hundred other kids. The parents will be blaming themselves for the rest of their lives. They don't need others to pile on. They need compassion and prayers.
The kid was stupid, but stupid does not give whoever hurt her the right to do it. Blame the criminals.

Why would any sane parents allow their pretty, blond, 18-year old daughter go to a place like Aruba without them?Because the doctors actually DO cut umbilical cords at birth.....?

And where did this "legal adult" get the money for this?
Everyone keeps saying that the parents had "no choice". Well, unless she paid for the whole trip herself, they DID.
I do blame the criminals, but I also blame people who make stupid choices.

According to a gentleman from National Geographic who was on Fox News this morning, Aruba is one of the safest places to go. There was one murder on the entire island last year. But, as he said, people can still do horrible things, and she was a victim. And others have already pointed out that she was of legal age, and went with a large group, certainly no blame should fall on her parents.

Or more of them considering that it's 100 students.
