Texaco found me when I lived in Texas. They wanted to obtain the rights to suck the oil out from under my property I had there. Turns out they already had 80% approval of the land owners over the 'pool' and didn't need my approval anyway. My share was placed in a trust at the rate of about $35.00 dollars a year, lol. Somewhere I have a 'trust' with a few hundred dollars in it, I guess. The State gets everything over 5 years old, so hurry.

There's another Colorado River in Texas that they're talking about.

Thousands of readings over time and only good for inches. Well why not lay pipe a 3/4 inch pipe line to a distant point to the north and one to a ocean point to the south 90 degree up with a clear plastic tube and then install an inverted yard stick on the plastic tubes and then fill with water and by checking the ocean reading you will be able to tell within an 1/8 of an inch of any movement within minutes

I'm not convinced it would be a loss.
Yeah, well what about Mardi Gras and Bourbon Street? We're talking national treasures here - aren't we? ;-)

If it worked, no one would be buying $10,000 laser transits to do the job.

For the last 15 years I have used such a tool on a smaller scale of course to check for foundation movement in the n. Texas area as water seeks it's own level. Stanley tool tried to copy and have a product called a stanley compu level. If you have an unobstructed view of things the lazier is a good tool if not the water level will work rings around the lazier
