What is a Bronze Star awarded for?
We had to have my dads discharge papers (he served in WW11 and Korea)for him to have a military funeral. On his papers, it showed he received 2 Bronze Stars.

I, too salute the good Maj for a job well done. However, my radar always goes up when a staff weenie is awarded a medal with a "V" device or for valor. Not that some don't deserve it, but a "V" device is not an award you get for attendance and a job well done, although the Bronze Star can be on it's own. The narrative here sounds more like a Bronze Star sans the "V" device.
