Dubie said this week he has not made up his mind whether he will seek the job. But he will attend the one-day seminar in Washington, D.C., anyway.

Brian Dubie may be the only hope of keeping an open Socialist out of the U.S. Senate.
Time to fire this Dubie up.
Does Dubie Have a Chance at all to prevent the first Socialist Senator ever.
Brian is as conservative as George W. Bush. He is no Douglas. No way Vermont sends him to DC to vote on SCOTUS nominees.
Well I looked at the LT. Gov Election in Vermont from 2004, and unlike my home state, their LT. Gov is elected seperatly. So he own on his own with 56% of the vote. However, does the seperate election of LT. Gov usually follow the election trend of the Governor?
They don't really runs as a true ticket, but the liberal LG vote was split in 2002 and incumbency helped Brian in 2004.
It's actually not too unusual that VT has a Governor and Lt Governor from 2 different parties. Mad Howie was the 'Rat Lt Gov when the GOP Gov. Dick Snelling bought the farm. Mad Howie also had to contend with Snelling's widow serving as Lt Governor for a time. If Dubie vacates the seat for a Senate (or House) run, Douglas may have a 'Rat serving as his #2.
Never say never. Sanders won in 1990 mainly because his opponent ran negative ads that backfired. He nearly lost to a state legislator in 1994. In 1996, he won because his opponent inspired a backlash by hiring a P.I. to dig up dirt on him. The rest of his reelections were against token opposition.
Bernie Sanders victories have had as much to do with his opponents' shortcomings as his own strength. If Dubie avoids mudslinging and has ample financing, he can win this.
