how about Big Brothers Big Sisters, they openly accept um...F@gs as mentors and refuse to inform the parents.
As a public community school teacher, I'm not. As an Eagle Scout, I'm not. As a cubmaster, I'm not. As an advocate for kids in the community, I'm not.
I'm glad someone finally pointed this out about the Boy Scouts. We had all sorts of boys in our troop. The BSA were "tolerant" before there was even such a word.
Agreed.
What's not to like about the Boy Scouts?
It's a direct threat to the leftists reeducation and indoctrination efforts taking place in our society today.
The anti-American socialist movement recognizes the moral base that the Boy Scout program instills in our youth, and it is in direct opposition to their perverse goals.
Each court victory that the ACLU obtains further drains BSA resources while forcing the organization further to the margins of "polite society", as defined by the government. All non-governmental social organizations (churches, families, etc.) are under similar assault. Big Brother doesn't want anybody competing for your loyalty.
Weelll, my Cub Scout pack got banned from meeting in public schools (in Ithaca, the haven of liberalism) and the local chapter of the United Way revoked funding because we wouldn't allow gay leaders.
That was 8 years ago, btw.
What's wrong with the Boy Scouts? The homosexuals trying to attack it.
Whats wrong with the BSA!
Thay stand for goodness, honesty and values.
thats whats wrong, thats why there hated by the evil ones.
i am going to my nephew's eagle scout court of honor tomorrow, i couldn't be prouder of the lad. he's worked so hard.
Ummm. okay, what then??? I oppose those too. Let's not forget the ACLU. Luckily, it's mostly churches around here that have the scouting programs and the community is solidly behind scouting.
well where I happened to be a boy scout, the good ol boy system was in full effect. People like me, who went through the book one task at a time and got tested for it when I attempted to get credit for it were under CONSTANT scrutiny.
Whereas the kids from "connected" families got their stuff signed off and were NEVER tested, even though the scout leader wanted too.
in my 5 years of Cub and 1 year of boy scouts, I saw one kid never get tested ONCE. We also went through 10 pack leaders during that time. It was odd. Now I just don't want anything to do with the entire organization. Not for what they believe in, as it closely mirrors my core beliefs, but rather my experiences.
.
What's right with the Boy Scouts..?

EAGLE SCOUT Neil Armstrong

"... The problem with the code of character that Scouts must adhere to is the idea of honor, the idea that an individual is accountable before God and his fellow man to uphold his duty with integrity, service, and selflessness. For if one is subject to moral laws higher than himself, and his honor is bound up in duty to those laws, the supremacy of the individual must meet its defeat.
"Boy Scouting is a bold resistance to the rising individualism of the age. Scouting teaches self-government, not selfishness. It should come as no surprise that the Boy Scouts are hated by the most vocal of the individualists whose moral agendas have no compatibility with Scouting: atheists and homosexual activists."

You're right. The ACLU and the other moral relativists are working to release the bonds of the evil that is within each of us, rather than working to keep it in check. It is important that we regain control of this, and soon.
Boy Scouts from the area place flags on veterans' graves at Pleasanton Memorial Gardens Cemetery on May 28. Cub Scout Bailey Held, 7, left, searches for a veterans grave as his older brother, Webelos Scout Dominic Held, 10, salutes a veterans grave. (Susan Tripp Pollard/Contra Costa Times)
later pingout.
Support the Boy Scouts of America.

I'm not quite sure of what you are referring to as my troop never had anything like it in my many years as a scout. We did have to pass off stuff to merit badge counselors and for our rank advancements, but there were no big testing sessions for cub scouts. We had fun and passed stuff off from time to time. I don't have anything but pleasant memories. It was usually the MOMS who facilitated anything, though I was lucky to have both my mom and dad be scout leaders at different times. All five brothers and I got our Eagle Scout awards. I'll give the biggest credit to my mom. My dad did do his part though, going on many scout camping trips with us. There was, no good ol' boy system, however. Besides, there were several boys in my troop who had no fathers at different times.
I have had a million bad things happen to me (I very rarely have things go my way) and I still remember them, BUT I don't let them dictate my life today and in the future. Life is a continual learning process for me and I do use different situations, positive or negative, to help me change my life for the better.
