True, but it has many acclaimed actors--Dick Burton, Anthony Hopkins, Timothy Dalton, that Jude Law kid.
And more importantly it is a beautiful country--with much cooler castles than England.

You're forgetting the well known "Welcher" who won't pay a lost bet or a debt. I knew a guy who 'Welched' on a big debt to some of the boys in Vegas, and the best guess at the time (1966) was that he was napping in a shallow hole somewhere in the desert between Barstow and Vegas.
I imagine it's just another word we can no longer use as it's probably not PC.
