Last time I was in Italy, I spoke with some Italians and overnight, they said they lost around 50% of their money's value when the Euro was implemented.
Not exactly a recipe for success.

That's what the Dutch are saying about the Gilder as well.
Gotta wonder if Russia and Saudi are still talking about trading oil based on the euro or puking in a corner somewhere now. valuable the euro might be, but stable? hmmmm
