LOL. I just installed Service Pac 1 on a Server 2003 machine. It had some interesting security upgrades along with its bug fixes.
First, I noticed that the Help service was uninstalled, then I found that Wordpad wouldn't display jpeg images -- for security reasons.
Hey what grandma desktop app puts people in dep hell?
I have to agree I use Linux because I like the OS more than OSX, but of all the interfaces out there OSX is the best..
Not gonna happen. If Apple was going to switch to x86, they'd have done it a few years ago when the G4 was stagnating. Now that IBM is putting more resources behind PPC (all 3 of the next-generation consoles use it), switching makes no sense at all.
Um, this article indicates otherwise. The dual G5 runs at least even with the dual Xeon, losing slightly to the dual Opteron. This is consistent with many other benchmarks I've seen. Everybody is moving to multiple CPUs and cores, because as clock speeds can't increase as rapidly as before, it's the best way to get maximum performance.
This is not a facetious comment: are you serious? How and why would you use WordPad for jpegs on a Server 2003 machine?
Just to document settings, using screen prints of the various configuration pages. On any page, hit alt-printscreen, then ctrl-v in Wordpad, and you have documented your settings. I've been doing this for quite a while. It's much easier and more foolproof than writing everything down.
After installing SP1, the wordpad document wlll no longer display the screen images.
They said "intel chips" not "x86."
It's unfortunate that MySQL hasn't been optimized for Mac OS X, but people who use Macs as servers typically use them for streaming audio and video applications, where they are very competitive. For example, Yahoo! uses the XServe for streaming video.
I had to register an account just to reply to the seinfeld quote (these pretzels are making me thirsty!) LMAO!!!!!!!! That show shoulda kep on goin!
