My point is, its not impossible for a woman to get HIV from vaginal intercourse, however in the absence of certain other factors it is really not very statistically likely. I think I read somewhere just the other week about the odds being something like 1/1000 occurrences of unprotected intercourse.
Naturally, one wouldn't want to subject themselves to even that amount of risk - and no one is suggesting that people ought not to use condoms - it just puts the hype into perspective when you look at the stats.
Not also that such stats are based on interviews w/ the victims. Some may not wish to admit to homosexuality. Also, heterosexuals are obviously capable of anal sex as well as vaginal sex.
