"I am occasionally skeptical of the motives that drive the ACLU, but then they defend Rush Limbaugh's medical records as a matter of personal privacy. "
If you noticed, their public pronouncement of supporting Rush created a whole stir in the MSM and liberal establishment, which mis-identified Rush as a drug abuser and criminal.
They had an agenda and used the right to privacy to slam Rush.
True, but one is not the other. Anyone in the ACLU is either on the bad guys' side... or confused. It is the primary function of the ACLU to make everything appear grey, except the white, which is painted black.

Liberty,
I agree with you! He/she/it has strongly mild trolling opinions:

Send him packing on a trolley bus!
Littlealex,
Go play with the your pals; the DUmmies!
Yes, Alex. Things do look a bit grey when your head is up your backside. Pity you're not so articulate as you think you are. "More investigation", Really?
To send the individual to mass slaughter.
Anti Christ Luciferians United
You don't need to accept the vast socialist baggage of the ALCU to make a case for privacy of personal medical records!
The ACLU defending rush did not fool me for one minuite.
That was intended to fool some of the people all of the time.they are 100% evil not 95%.many are on to there TRICK'S
The "backside" thing works but I always believed that when you stopped seeing life in black and white and started seeing everything in gray, it was an indication that you were going blind.
I just watched an internet video report on war crimes trial in The Hague including executions of prisoners. I watched and wondered why the ACLU is so pumped up to see Abu Grahb videos and Amnesty Intl. is crying over Gitmo. These groups are really pathetic and the American people would know it if the MSM showed stuff like that and we saw REAL atrocities.
Crap. And I thought that trollish activism had ended for awhile.
Begone troll!

Did anyone else catch this obvious typo? Clearly it should have read: "Because of Baldwin's Communiist leanings ..."
Your response sounds like my son, Alex. When I tell Alex something suprising, he raises his eyebrows and says either "Are you serious?" or "You've GOT to be KIDDING me."
Your logic isn't quite as sound as his.
He's 5.

It's the concept that everything is some shade of grey.
No. There IS evil in this world. The 19 hijackers on 9/11 were truly evil. The ACLU is truly evil. Saddam Insane is truly evil. There are a LOT of evil things in this world, and you don't seem willing or able to handle that. Why? Would it offend your sensibilities to accept that there is evil in the world?

Until, of course, the moment you are in need of them.
However much you may dislike them, their ability to protect those who have no voice is the true purpose of lawyers.
Unfortunately, there are too few lawyers who have the willingness or experience to engage in the constitutional issues involved.
Partly, of course, because it doesn't pay.
I, for one, am seriously seeking involvement of the ACLU on my little island. This place is worse than 'bama in the fifties. And if ANYONE on freerepublic believes state action without Federal oversight is a good thing, perhaps I should rethink my involvement..
Anybody who still thinks the ACLU promotes the American Constitution or genuine Civil Liberties is nuts, perverse or stupid!
Hmmm. I don't really subscribe to any one political party, so these attacks are unwarranted.
I agree with republicans on tax issues, education issues, social security, and some crime issues. I agree with democrats on civil liberties, open government, and freedom of speech. Where does that put me?
Why berate me?
