More liberal, moron tripe. Yes, the solution to everything -- take it away from LAW ABIDING CITIZENS which is AGAINST the law, says the Second Amendment. But it is just fine to allow ILLEGAL aliens in this country, AND THEY ARE BREAKING THE LAW. The old liberal double standard.

Liberalism is a disease of the mind.

Well, don't forget the Murrah Federal Bldg. We need to ban fertilizer too.

Post a sign in your front yard stating you have a gun-free home. You can start your own movement...

So then I suppose that he and his liberal friends are ready to take the blame when the bad guys rape, pillage, and plunder their unarmed society?

Would the horrific and bloody rampage by Toby Whelchel have been possible had he not possessed a handgun car? [snip] I think not....

I think not either, but I would not deny normal people the use of one or the other based on abuse by a nutcase or by a brain addled octogenarian.

It is useful to remind ourselves why insanity is a bar to elected public service (although at times I wonder).

I'm not familiar with the story behind this LTE. I'm curious, though. Does anyone know if this perp had a license to carry his gun?

Bombs are so easy to make , most anyone with a computer can figure out how to make one. Would a horrific death toll be possible if not for guns. Hell Yes--anyone who thinks otherwise is a damned fool.

Would the horrific and bloody rampage by Toby Whelchel O.J. Simpson have been possible had he not possessed a handgun kitchen knife?

Gungrabbers should be forced to live in prison. All weapons are banned in prison so it must be a paradise right?

Care to take a guess this the also the LAT official position? Now this is an honest guy who says what the other side really wants but they have to lie about to avoid arousing furious opposition.

A rank insult, isn't it?

That some like the LA Times urge that a natural law right, the right to defend oneself--esp. when case law makes it clear that the police have no duty to individual citizens, but to the public at large, that is, a right reserved by the people and clearly set forth in the 2nd Amendment to the "people", as the term the people is used in three other enumerated rights in the original ten--should be denied to law-abiding, tax-paying, adult Americans.

Self-appointed opinion-makers and 'nanny-legislators' trust us that little.

And if tyrannical gun-grabbers are successful in licensing, registration or an outright ban, the police would not hesitate to enforce such laws against you and me, law-abiding citizens, knowing that dangerous criminals would ignore those laws, with impunity, as they ignore current laws.

I guess the LA Times isn't on board with the "reach out" to Red States and their values thing. They ought to complain to John Kerry AND algore, that these liberal Democrat politicians didn't take the NRA on and promote this idea of banning all private ownership of handguns.

Question to the LA Times: What do you can a State, where only the government has all the guns?

Answer: a Police State. Yup, a Police State is the epitome of the liberal, progressive vision.

Zimbabwe is on the road to a holocaust. Mugabe will be able to kill all those people (blacks will make up the most victims), like what is happening in the Sudan/Dafur, because the people are not armed. Will the LA Times take some responsibility for all the deaths that have happened BECAUSE of gun prohibitions? Cambodia, Vietnam, Rwanda, Nazi Germany. Every holocaust has been preceded by gun control and gun prohibitions.

http://www.dailybulletin.com/Stories/0,1413,203~21481~2898198,00.html

Toby Whelchel, 38, who has a rap sheet running from Florida, through Indiana and into California, apparently sought revenge against his former attorney in Thousand Oaks and then went on a rampage of carjacking and pistol-whipping and shooting innocent people.

It ended in the sporting-goods section of the discount department store where Whelchel intended to steal ammunition to carry on his spree.

License? I seriously doubt it. Sounds like an well-established felon to me.

IMHO, this is the EXACT reason the far-left wants to DISARM AMERICA, killing the Second Amendment, and thus ensuring the inability of the people to fight back against their tyrannical plans to thrust the U.S. into hard socialism under abosolute government power.

Sound radical? It is. Billie tried it, and almost achieved a full sweep of the judicial system. These power-crazy leftists are just that --- rabidly focused on power and control and dedicated to destroy traditional America as it was founded and framed.
