Billionaire's Son Eyes Mich. Governorship

The son of one of Forbes magazine's 200 richest people said Thursday that he will run for governor in 2006. Dick DeVos, 49, said at a policy conference that "I'm intending to be a candidate." He is the son of Richard DeVos, said by Forbes magazine to have a net worth of about $3 billion.

I saw Mr. DeVos's wife, former state Republican Chairwoman Betsy DeVos introduce the President on the campaign trail here in MI.  They are wired real high in RNC circles.  Betsy is real tough, and will be relentless on the campaign trail.

Look out Granholm, we're after you...

This is typical AP media biasness.

DeVos has money(his own as well as his dad's), but he's not a Johnny-Come-Lately to republican politics. He's given not just money, but time and effort as well to conservative causes (Education reform particularly) and the Grand Rapids area community. He's paid his dues.
