050601-N-3241H-055 Persian Gulf (May 1, 2005) - An F/A-18C Hornet launches from the flight deck of Nimitz-class aircraft carrier Carl Vinson (CVN 70) as another Hornet awaits its turn to launch from the flight deck. The Carl Vinson Carrier Strike Group is currently deployed to the Persian Gulf conducting operations in support of multi-national forces in Iraq and maritime security operations in the Gulf.
