I am celebrating!!!!!! I am delirious that france LOST the Olympic bid. Jock chirac must be happiness-strapped today. Jacques, can you say comeuppance?
Is this an example of God working in wonderful ways? Perhaps.
I also am even happier that -- England -- one of our major allies in the war on terror (GENERAL NOTE to liberals & euroweenies: yes, the WOT includes Iraq) will host the 2012 Olympics. If it cannot be the U.S. then I am happy for England.
NOTE: I have french blood, so I look forward to no posts about how I am picking on france, thank you. I am entitled.
I guess I am even more happy because I was told in error early this morning that france had won the bid, and I replied tersely with that story about that rude chirac saying that mad cow was about the only contribution England had made to Europe... So you can imagine how nice it is to know that was an error and indeed England won the bid dispite the fact that many considered france as the top contender right up until the winner was announced! What a stunning upset! More french whine anyone?

If having France loose the Olympics is all it takes, we will have to look around for other ways to make you smile.
Actually, when you say "Olympics", I see foreign visitors all over the country, and no one to watch what they are up to.
When they were held in California in the 1980's, the Arizona
Health Department sent out letters that warned of the danger to the water supplies in our small towns.
I was at the water company meeting when it was read.
Said it would be so easy for a traveler to stop and dump a
vial of germs in the water tank.
Our valley has about 8 or more wells and maybe as many as 30 storage tanks, today they are behind 6 foot chainlink fences.

I see the 2012 Olympics as a booby prize not unlike a trojan horse and I was hoping Paris would get it not London.
