Ambassador is the name of one of the only two cars that was manufactured in India during the socialist regimes of Nehru and his daughter. Later, the government started manufacturing a third car.

The car was based on some ancient British model and never changed over the years. It was rugged and did not have any features that cars in USA have. The joke went around that with a few modifications, it would be very effective in the farm sector.

In the late 1990s, the Indian economy opened up and you see other cars on Indian roads.

Thank you for the info and photo.

I couldn't decide if it meant a 'car from the Embassy' or was a brand.

Nash made a model called the Ambassador in the 1950's, I think, that is a foggy memory recall.

I did a quick google and got a surprise, I was right, but the model was made for more years than I recalled.

Did you find the article on India that Davey posted? last month.

Good to hear from you, please join us, this thread is for collecting info on terrorists and their plans, I got a little carried away with posting last night, but couldn't sleep and the news kept coming in.

Your help here would be valuable to us.
