Something is beginning to look very contrived about Mark Felt's sudden "coming out." It makes me very suspicious. There is a puzzle here, and we don't nearly have all of the pieces.

Yeah, I was wondering that too... why now, after all these years? It's really too late to cash in with a book, people barely remember, as much as the talkies are trying to drum up interest, it's a distant historical relic. Some oral historian should try to document what he knows, but...

It could be that Dean's hands are dirty and Dean himself could have ordered the break in at Watergate, at least thats one theory out of "Silent Coup".

Yes, I get the same feeling that I've been had with this. What's the real news this revelation is covering up?

Gordon Liddy says that Deep Throat was a composite of leakers who were trying to save their own careers. He also says that Dean was the instigator behind the Watergate break-in, that he was trying to cover up evidence of a tie between the call girl ring that was operating across the street from the Watergate and the DNC because his girl friend was one of the call girls.

Well, Mark Felt didn't "come out". The family of a senile old man announced that he was Deep Throat, as he nodded affably.

However, Woodward's five page account in WaPo yesterday is very convincing-but not in the way he intends.

Woodward, pathetically eager to please, was picked up and groomed by Mr. Felt. Mr. Felt ran Woodward like an agent. Mr. Felt thought the Nixon White House was populated by "Nazis" before they did anything!.

Woodward exposes all this without seeing what he is describing, so convinced is he of his own importance.

The question becomes, when did Mark Felt decide to get rid of Nixon, who were his collaborators, and how far back do their associations go?

All the way to Dallas?
