Much has been written about the need and desire of Felt's family to cash in on his 15 minutes of fame. I have no problem with this, but we're also hearing about how he is living in a converted garage at his daughter's house, and that she has taken care of him for 20 years. Before designating her for sainthood. I 'd like to point out that he has been receiving a federal pension all this time, and he retired at the top of the federal pay system I know very little about the federal system, but assume there are many here who can estimate what his salary was at the time he retired, and what his pension is, even assuming that he elected a reduced benefit option to provide a survivor benefitfor his wife.
Some folks are now sharing homes; especially new immigrants (legal and illegal) in order to weather expenses. Be curious to know the years (19XX-19xx) she is alleged to have been in a commune. Would tell me everything I needed to know. :>
So, who do you imagine has Felt's "old file"?
If my daughter ever called me Lambchop...
This got busted up.
LOL!
Didn't I tell you that he was going to be all over this!
We'll find that some of W&B's stuff came from sources who never existed... stuff they could link, but never quite verify. Of course it was sold to the public as fact.
Remember, looking at Napolitano's legal theory, it's possible that given the identity of Felt as Deep Throat, Woodward, Bernstein and assorted characters at the Washington Post may well be involved in CURRENTLY OCCURING CRIMES.
There are far fewer RINOS around these days and maybe we can start pushing back at the Left on this.
I'd love to see Woodward in the slammer, and if that also takes us into prosecuting an old, enfebled and demented man, that's what it takes. (That's what the Left tells us about Pinochet, donchaknow).
Out of curiosity, who busted the commune up? er, how did it get busted up?
...How about,...'Putin'.....?
....What... WAS....Felt's religious denominational claim while working under Hoover?
/spooks?
It was the NY POST, not the WP.and the paper is a pretty good advocate of Nixon..when he was living in NJ..before he died...he wrote a few op-eds for the paper,a nd he used to come into the paper once a yer for a luncheon with the editors and publishers..so FWIW..I don't think they'd perpetrate a smear..
I will wait for James Rosen's book on Watergate. Not to be ready until 2006 but I am hoping it's sooner.
Remember this is Scrapple Face Satire.
As I recall my friend and I were trying to come up with $50,000 just shortly after Nixon resigned.
The helicopter that took him to the airport flew past our building in L'Enfant Plaza even with the 5th floor where I worked at the time.
There was another cluster of semi-pads over on the North ridge above Rosslyn. These were older nastified apartments mostly rented by young federales.
Marijuana parties were a recurring problem in those apartments. They've been torn down and replaced with some really, incredibly expensive stuff.
I do work for a retired FBI agent that was in charge of a So. Calif. office and retired about 20 years ago and today receives well over $100k/year in retirement.
NYPost is a far more reliable witness regarding the history of Watergate than is the Washington Post. They have their "reputation" to protect (as well as Donald Graham Jr.'s portfolio).
Don't be too sure or surprised if it's discovered that for years, Felt and his family members have spent a lot of time, years, documenting and writing about his adventure. It was historic and valuable stuff. He was well aware of that, and so were members of his family, for a long time.
THanks...you could live in a three car garage on that kind of money..
Word is they don't let federales over 50 carry guns.
I finally watched the movie ..
If that is even close to what is written in their book of what all happened ... I'd say they couldn't verify alot of what they reported
And some of it just didn't add up or make sense
