"Poland is occupying historic German lands"

We have apeace treaty with Germans. They acknowledge that these territiries are ours. Ask them.

"Not one legitimate country has recognized "Ichkeriya's" independence."

Not one country (except Vatican) recognizes Taiwan. Do you mean it would be OK for Chinese to attack this country and slaughter half of its population? For 123 no one recognized our (Polish) independence, but somewhow we are here, hello! We were Russian citizens too. Even Leo Tolstoy (this very enlightened Russian) used to say: those Poles have only one choice: perish or become good Russians. But we are not Russians, damn it! And Chechens are not Russians either.

"What you have in Chechnya is akin to Gdansk rebelling and saying we want to rejoin Germany and/or become independent"

Ther are practically no Germans in Gdansk, for your information.

You have a peace treaty with the Germans which cede these terroritories to Poland because it was made as a result of the Yalta and Tehran Conferences (where Roosevelt and Churchill were complicit in selling out Eastern Europe to Stalin). The Chechens who were conquered over a century ago also signed up to be a part of Russia. So, what's the problem now? You fail to see your hypocrisy.

Taiwan is not invaded because the U.S. recognizes its right to existence. Apples and Oranges, btw.

You continue to miss the point about Gdansk. There are no Germans in Gdansk because the Poles ensured conditions were so bad for them that they left. Hmmm, and if the Russians did that to Chechnya after it was conquered during Tsarist times? And, what do you think about the Chechen SS Units in WWII who were allied with Nazi Germany? If Chechnya had been an independent country during WWII it would have been given to the Soviet Union as recompense for its actions during WWII, see an analogous situation: Gdansk and Eastern Germany which is now in Poland.

Yeah, do be kind and point that out to the groups of old Germans sueing in the European courts to get their lands back in Poland.
