Don't forget that Russia is responsible for creating those terrorist...I wouldn't compare most of the Chechens with Al-Qaida.

THAT IS A BALD FACED LIE. I spent six years on a Special Forces A-Team, and I still have many connections in the Special Ops community. I have good intelligence what is going on in the WOT. Al-Qaeda is in Chechnya, and they have been there for years. On every battlefield in the world where al-Qaeda is fighting you will find dead Chechens, and so please go crawl back in your hole. When I first came on these boards and saw the total lies being told about Russia in Chechnya I blew my top.

Wow, so you have intelligence...

Every reasonable person who reads news from different media is aware that in Chechnya there were, are, and most likely will be some Al-Qaida operatives. A common fact. You must be also aware that if it weren't for Russia and it's totaly unprofessional actions most of the todays terrorists wouldn't even think of blewing themselves up in the middle of a crowd of innocent civilians. The whole suicide squads of Chechen women were formed up as a response of what happens there and because there are no men left...

On every battlefield in the world where al-Qaeda is fighting you will find dead Chechens, and so please go crawl back in your hole.Your intel must be very inaccurate if you try compare "collateral damage" with planned executions. When you are running out of arguments you are trying to insult me. So don't be surprised if I don't crawl back in my hole.

Al Qaeda was and is probably operating in Chechenya. True. Chechens also compained about the Arab terrorists in their country invited by their government before the conflict with Russia. True. It is Basayev that was responsible for the invited terrorists, and if he was not part of the government, maybe the situation may have been something different. Meanwhile, the counter terrorism operation does not justify Russia's act to deny rights of declaration of independence and its sovereignty for ever. The difference between US in Iraq and Afghanistan with Russia in Chechenya is that our country will not occupy them under our influence for ever, and the sovereignty will be given to the people respecting their independence. On the other hand, Russia continues to occupy Chechenya, without any coalition force or third party to be in charge to guarantee democracy and freedom of speech. At least I don't see any. Unless Russia guarantees Chechenya for its independence, or at least allow third party to monitor the political process of the new government, it is nothing but a puppet government. Foreign election monitoring groups have monitored the elections of Afghanistan and Iraq, with some criticism but also stating it satisfactory. On the other hand, Chechenya's election was claimed invalid. This is the difference of Iraq, Afghanistan and the case of Chechenya. It does not mean that anti-Russia militants with terrorist elements are justified, but there is also a problem with Russia in its tactics dealing with reconstruction of Chechenya with indications of flawed election and denying sovereignty to declare independence. We should also not forget that Russia opposed Iraq War that indicates their double standard. We should also not forget Russia tried to interfere in elections of Ukraine, and now in Belarus. This will not be tolerated.
