Actually, it is Democrats who are deemphasizing guns as an issue and pretending to be pro-gun. They have realized that being anti-gun costs them. Even the press seems to be cooling it a bit on anti-gun agitation because it riles up the conservative base. Since Republicans control Congress and the White House and have a de facto alliance with pro-gun Democrats, Republicans do not need to make noise, only move the program along.

My problem is not limited to guns, it is the way we are pandering to the libs on issues we dont need to. Bush and the others were voted in by the people in this nation who have seen what the liberals are made and want something different, so why do we need to pander? All it does is make us look weak. We need to hold a hard line when it comes to our values, which include constitutional rights, border security, stem cell research, and if you are going to step into something big step in with both feet and your eyes open, (and the willingness to sacrifice bombs for the lives of your soldiers.
