"I wish someone would meekly ask WHY they think Christianity is so evil."

1. Because their study has been limited to Western history and has focused on religious wars, slavery, Inquisitions, etc. They seem unaware that these kinds of evils existed in other parts of the world and so believe they are uniquely characteristic of Christianity.

2. The even greater and more recent evils of socialism and communism are overlooked or excused.

3. Christianity demands some discipline of our sexual impulses.

4. They are incapable of understanding nuances, circumstances, etc,. and see everything in black-and-white terms.

5. They are almost completely incapable of self-reflection, and project their dark side onto others. We're all bad boys sometimes, but at least conservatives usually know when their being bad boys. Conservative Christians generally - if not always - know they are sinners.

To complete my thought:

6. They [left-Wing Christians] are frozen at the adolescent stage of rebellion. They have never integrated the realization that our parents, our nation, our ancestors, our religion, etc, were - and are - imperfect, and must be loved and accepted as such. They cannot forgive their "parents," so to speak, for not being perfect.

Also the truth of the gospel sears their conciouses so much they cannot stand it. As is says in John. Those who are in the light shall be children of light. Those who are in darkness avoid the light lest their deeds be reproved.
