The the National Council of Churches attending this is akin to Bnai Brith attending the Nazi rally at Nuremberg.

Not really. The NCC is part of the World Council of Churches, which has about as much Christianity in it's religious beliefs and political philosophy as Hitler's Gestapo had. Many NCC officials would feel right at home in the old Soviet Union or Mao's China.

Many, if not most, of the mainline denominations who belong to the NCC are slowly dying on the vine because so many members of those congregations are deserting them in favor of flourishing evangelical and fundamentalist churches which still believe in biblical Christianity.

The political/philosophical orientation of the NCC bigwigs is well to the left of even the majority of Democrats in Congress. The NCC would like to see the US become an amalgam of the old USSR's collectivist economic system and Sodom and Gomorrah's immorality. Sodom's immorality is something they may get to see in the US before long if our culture's moral standards sink much deeper into the sewer.

As another poster said, these people are NUTS. Simply, irrevocably wacko.

I wonder how many of them are members and posters at Democratic Underground? My guess is most of them. A lot of the things said at that convention sound just like the utter insanity and stupidity posted on every DU thread.

NONE of those people MUST EVER be allowed anywhere near a position of authority in government, and certainly not anywhere in even the general area of Congress, the White House, or a Federal court bench.

"She insisted that evangelical leaders from Billy Graham to Jerry Falwell "had to have read Hitler's Mein Kampf." She explained, "I say this confidently because anyone who has learned to quack like a duck has studied ducks!"

Wow. And she studies ducks, too. I'm impressed.
